- Luca Lombardo, le marseillais de la production, reprend le rôle de Turiddu qu'il n'a pas chanté depuis 20 ans

- Retour à l'Opéra de Marseille du grand ténor russe Vladimir Galouzine, après l'accueil triomphal que lui a réservé le public marseillais dans Turandot et Il Trovatore
- Première invitation à l'Opéra de Marseille pour Nataliya Tymchenko, qui chante Nedda.

Vladimir Galouzine est sans doute le meilleur Canio de sa génération, il se montre surprenant de générosité vocale, d’engagement dramatique, de spontanéité et d’invention. Cet admirable chanteur-comédien exprime à merveille les multiples facettes de ce héros ambigu.

"The Met's PAGLIACCI brought on the huge-voiced Vladimir Galouzine as Canio. There are only few tenor voices more thrilling than this one. Galouzine is a little too sexy for the cuckolded older man - not a common complaint on the operatic stage - so the Met did well to deploy foxy young Mariusz Kwiecien as his rival for Nedda’s affections. The baritone sounded a little rattled on top, as did Daniela Dessi as Nedda, though her timbre suited the music.
